# Custom Box Printing in Dubai: No Minimum Order for Your Plain Gift Boxes

Already have 30 plain chocolate boxes, 50 wedding favour boxes or 100 gift boxes that need your logo? Sun Studio offers direct UV printing on suitable customer-supplied rigid boxes at our studio in Al Quoz, Dubai, with no minimum order quantity.

We assess paper-covered hard boxes, leather and PU-covered boxes, wooden boxes and acrylic components for printing. Depending on the surface and construction, your design can include full-colour artwork, white ink, personalised names or raised details with an embossed effect. Clear acrylic lids may also suit reverse printing, where the artwork is viewed through the acrylic.

You supply the boxes, and we confirm the printable areas and suitable finish. Send a photo, dimensions, quantity and required date to get started.

## Can you print on plain boxes I already bought?

Yes. You can send Sun Studio your existing plain boxes for assessment and direct printing. This is useful when you have already purchased the packaging, have unbranded stock left from another project or need a small personalised batch for an event.

You do not need to order a large production run just to add branding to suitable boxes. A logo on the lid, an illustrated pattern, Arabic calligraphy or a recipient's name can turn plain packaging into something made for your brand or occasion.

Before sending the full quantity, share a photograph of the outside and inside of the box. Tell us whether the lid comes off, whether the box folds flat and which faces you want printed. These details help us establish how the item can be positioned for printing.

## Small quantity box printing: 1 sample, 30 pieces or 100 pieces

There is no minimum order quantity for suitable box printing at Sun Studio. You can request a single sample, a short batch or a larger run.

Digital UV printing does not require a separate screen or printing plate for each design. That makes it practical to consider projects such as:

- 30 chocolate gift boxes for a private dinner or client event.
- 50 wedding favour boxes with a couple's names and wedding date.
- 100 branded boxes for corporate gifts or a product launch.
- A presentation sample before committing to a larger quantity.

These are examples of possible briefs, not fixed packages. The quotation depends on the actual box, artwork and finish. No minimum order does not mean there is no preparation cost: alignment, artwork handling, sampling and surface preparation can still be needed. ## Which hard box materials can be printed?

The outer surface is what receives the ink. Two boxes described as cardboard, leather or wood may have very different coatings, so we assess the actual item before confirming production.

### Rigid paper and magnetic gift boxes

Hard paper boxes, also called rigid paperboard or paper-wrapped boxes, are useful for chocolate gifts, perfume sets, jewellery and corporate presentations. A suitable flat lid can carry a small logo or a more detailed printed design.

Magnetic closure boxes can also be considered. The closure does not determine printability by itself: the surface, lid shape, thickness and how the box can be held are what matter. Matte, glossy and soft-touch coverings need individual assessment.

### Leather and PU-covered presentation boxes

Leather-covered boxes can suit a discreet logo, a personalised name or a decorative design. The grain and original colour remain part of the finished appearance unless the artwork uses a suitable white ink base.

### Wooden and MDF gift boxes

Wooden boxes can carry colourful artwork while retaining the character of the material. A design may allow the grain to show through, or use white ink beneath selected areas to make the colours more opaque.

### Clear and coloured acrylic boxes

Acrylic can combine printed details with transparent areas, allowing the contents to remain visible. A logo, name or border on the lid can decorate a box without covering the whole display.

## Full-colour, white ink and raised embossed-effect finishes

The best finish depends on the design and how you want the box to feel in the hand.

### Full-colour artwork and fine detail

Direct UV printing can reproduce logos, illustrations, gradients, photographs and patterns on suitable box surfaces. It also allows Arabic and English wording within the same design.

For colour-sensitive branding, approve the result on the actual box material. The underlying colour, surface texture and use of white ink can change how artwork appears compared with a screen preview.

### White ink on dark and clear surfaces

White ink can be used as part of the visible design or as a base beneath colour. This is particularly useful when artwork needs to stand out against a dark lid, a coloured covering or clear acrylic.

On a transparent lid, selective white can keep a logo opaque while leaving surrounding areas clear. On wood or leather, the artwork can be planned to retain some of the original material's appearance.

### Raised logos and textured printing

Raised UV printing builds selected parts of the design in layers, producing a detail that can be felt. It can be considered for logos, monograms, lettering or decorative patterns on suitable box surfaces.

This produces an embossed effect using printed ink. Traditional embossing changes the shape of the material with pressure and tooling; raised UV printing adds texture above the surface. The suitable height and level of detail depend on the artwork and box material. For a restrained finish, consider a small raised logo with flat printed supporting text. A physical sample is the best way to assess both the look and feel before the full batch.

## How reverse printing works on acrylic box lids

Reverse printing places the artwork on the back of a clear acrylic component so it reads correctly when viewed through the front. The artwork is prepared in reverse, with colour and white layers arranged for the intended appearance.

The result is a smooth acrylic front face with the image visible beneath it. The acrylic separates the print from handling on that front face, while the printed back still needs appropriate protection and care.

For gift packaging, this can work well on suitable removable clear lids or components printed before assembly. A border, monogram or illustration can surround a clear viewing area for the product inside.

Reverse printing and raised printing offer different visual and tactile effects. A reverse-printed image is viewed through the acrylic; it does not make the front surface feel embossed. Tell us whether your priority is a smooth glossy face or texture you can touch.

For chocolate and other food packaging, the position of the printed face matters. Standard decorative UV printing should not be assumed suitable for direct food contact. ### Chocolate and date gift boxes

Supply the final approved spelling, including Arabic text, before production. If different boxes need different names, provide a clear list showing which artwork belongs to each item.

## Can you print the lid, sides and inside of a box?

The accessible flat lid is often the most straightforward area to assess. Printing additional faces depends on whether the box can be positioned securely with enough clearance around the print area.

Tall walls, recessed panels, hinges, handles and uneven surfaces can restrict access. A removable lid or flat component may offer options that a fully assembled box does not.

Tell us which faces you want printed before preparing final artwork. Do not assume that every side or a design wrapping across corners can be printed in one operation. We will confirm the practical print areas for your box.

## What affects the price and turnaround?

Box printing is quoted against the actual brief. The main factors are quantity, print dimensions, number of faces, material preparation, white ink, raised layers and whether every piece has the same artwork. For example, 100 identical small logos on flat lids are a different production task from 30 boxes with large illustrations, raised details and individual names. Supplying your own boxes does not remove the need to check their surface and construction.

### Is UV printing the same as gold foil stamping?

No. Standard full-colour UV printing can reproduce a gold-coloured design, but that does not create the reflective metallic finish of real foil. Share a reference if you need a particular metallic appearance so the correct process can be discussed.

### Will the printing scratch off?

Resistance depends on the box surface, preparation, ink adhesion and handling. No decorative print should be described as scratch-proof. A sample on the actual box helps assess suitability, particularly where boxes will rub against one another during packing or transport.
