# Perfume Bottle Printing in Dubai

Sun Studio prints artwork **directly onto the glass of a perfume bottle** at our studio in Al Quoz, Dubai, for perfume and oud brands, private-label fillers and gifting buyers across the UAE and the wider GCC. There is no label, no shrink sleeve and no transfer film. UV ink is laid onto the bottle itself and cured as it goes down, so the decoration is part of the bottle rather than something stuck to it.

There is no minimum order. We print on bottles that you or your bottle supplier send us, and we do not make or sell bottles. Custom perfume bottle printing is the route to look at once a label stops doing the job: when the bottle is an unusual shape, when the artwork has to wrap all the way round, when a label edge would show, or when the run is fifty bottles rather than fifty thousand.

## What we can print

Bottle geometry decides the machine and the setup more than anything else. These are the cases we handle regularly:

- **Flat bottles**: printed on the flatbed, one face at a time, with front and back registered to each other.
- **Cylindrical bottles**: rotated against the printhead so artwork runs continuously around the body with no seam and no start-stop line.
- **Clear glass**: where white ink decides whether the artwork reads as colour or as a tint. Covered in the common questions below.
- **Frosted and satin glass**: an etched surface takes ink readily and gives a soft, matte ground that colour sits well against.
- **Coloured and lacquered glass**: the bottle colour becomes part of the design; white under the artwork is what stops it shifting.
- **Caps, collars and boxes**: ask us. Send the components with the bottle and we will test which of them we can print.
- **Sample runs**: one bottle, or a handful, printed before anything is committed. This is how most projects here start.

## Printing capabilities

Digital UV printing is the only kind of perfume bottle decoration we do. We do not offer screen printing, hot stamping or foiling, spray coating, colouring, frosting, decals or labels, and printed gold and silver are simulated in ink. What is available on any given bottle depends on the glass and the shape, and we will tell you which of these apply to yours once we have seen it:

- **Direct UV printing**: ink cured instantly by UV light as it is laid onto the glass, with nothing applied over the top.
- **White ink**: printed under the artwork to make colour hold on clear or coloured glass, or used on its own as an opaque mark.
- **Full colour**: photographic artwork, gradients, fine Arabic calligraphy and hairline detail, printed in one pass rather than separated into screens.

- **Varnish**: a gloss or matte finish over selected areas, so a matte body can carry a gloss monogram.
- **360° printing**: a continuous wrap around a cylindrical body, where the bottle profile allows it.
- **Short runs and one-offs**: no screens and no plates, so a single bottle costs what a single bottle should.

## Flat versus cylindrical printing

They are two different processes, and which one your bottle needs is the first thing we work out, because it changes the artwork you should send. The short version is here. ### Flat bottles

A flat bottle lies on the flatbed and is printed one face at a time, with front and back as separate passes registered to each other. Keep artwork clear of the edge where the face curves to the shoulder, because detail softens there.

### Cylindrical bottles

A round bottle is turned against the printhead, so the artwork wraps the body through 360° with no seam. Artwork is supplied as a flat strip as wide as the circumference, and tapers, neck flares and oval bodies limit the band that can be printed.

## Who this is for

Most of the bottle work leaving this studio comes from one of these:

- **Perfume and oud brands**: Gulf houses moving away from labels, and new brands who want the bottle to look finished from the first run.
- **Private-label manufacturers**: filling for several brands and needing each one decorated differently from the same stock bottle.

## What to send before we can quote

We do not price printing on perfume bottles from a description, because two bottles that sound identical can behave differently under a printhead. What moves a quote is explained in [what drives UV printing cost in Dubai](https://www.sunstudio.ae/insights/uv-printing-cost-in-dubai/). Send this and you will get a real answer:

- **A photo of the bottle**: from the front and the side, so we can see the profile and the shoulder.
- **Dimensions**: height, width and depth, or diameter if it is round, plus the capacity.
- **The glass**: clear, frosted, coloured or lacquered, and whether it carries any coating.
- **The print area**: where on the bottle the artwork should sit, and whether it wraps.
- **Quantity**: including whether this is a sample, a launch run or something repeating.
- **Artwork**: vector for logos and type, high resolution for anything photographic. Tell us which elements must stay opaque.
- **Filling stage**: whether the bottles are empty, or already filled and capped.
- **Your deadline**: and whether the bottles are already in Dubai or still arriving.

We check the geometry, the glass and the artwork, and tell you what is printable and what should change.

Sample

We print a physical sample on your bottle so you can see the colour and finish before committing.

**Step 4**

Produce

Once the sample is approved we confirm the lead time for your quantity. The run is then printed, checked and packed.

## Technical considerations

Glass is smooth and non-porous, so adhesion depends on the exact surface finish, contamination, coatings, cleaning, pre-treatment and the ink system. A perfume bottle is handled daily, carried in a bag and sprayed with its own contents, so it is worth getting right rather than assuming.

The things that actually decide the outcome:

### The glass itself

Soda-lime, borosilicate, recycled stock and frosted glass do not all behave the same under the same ink.

### Coatings and lacquer

A sprayed or lacquered bottle is really a print onto that coating, and the coating is what the ink has to hold to. Its quality, not the glass beneath it, sets the result.

### Contamination

Release agents, handling oils and dust from transit all sit between the ink and the glass. Bottles are cleaned before printing.

### Pre-treatment

An adhesion promoter suited to glass is used where the substrate calls for it. It is not needed on every bottle, and we would rather establish that on a sample than apply it as a blanket policy.

### Curvature

The tighter the radius and the more the surface falls away from the head, the more the printable band has to be defined rather than assumed.

### Testing

For anything going into real distribution we print a sample first and check it: handling, tape, and where relevant contact with alcohol, since a fragrance bottle meets its own contents. Printing before filling and capping is normally cleaner. Tell us which stage your bottles are at.

## Common questions

### Can you print directly onto a perfume bottle?

Yes. UV ink is printed straight onto the glass and cured with UV light, with no label or film involved. Whether a particular bottle prints well depends on its shape, the glass or coating, and where the artwork has to sit. That is why we ask for a photo and, ideally, a sample bottle.

### Do you supply the bottles?

No. Sun Studio prints bottles that the brand or its bottle supplier sends us. We do not make or sell bottles, empty or filled. Have your supplier deliver to our studio in Al Quoz, or courier them to us, and include a few spares, because setting up and sampling uses a bottle or two.

### What is the minimum order for printed perfume bottles?

There is no minimum. There is no screen or plate to pay for, which is what normally forces a high minimum elsewhere. We print single bottles as samples and short runs as production. Tell us the quantity and we will price that quantity.

### How long does a sample and a production run take?

We do not publish a standard lead time. It is quoted per job once the sample is approved, because it depends on the bottle, the number of faces printed and the quantity. Give us your launch date in the first message and we will tell you whether it is realistic before you commit.

### Can you print on clear glass, or does it need to be frosted?

Clear glass prints. Transparent glass gives the ink no white base, so colour laid straight onto it reads as a tint and whatever is behind the bottle shows through. White ink printed under the artwork is what makes colour hold. Frosted glass gives a soft opaque ground and is often the easier starting point.

### Can you print gold or metallic on a perfume bottle?

Printed gold and silver are simulated in ink. It is not metallic ink and it is not foil, so a gold logo prints as a colour that reads as gold, without the mirror shine of hot stamping. If a true metallic finish is essential, direct printing is the wrong process for that element. Ask for a printed sample on your bottle and judge it in the hand.

### Will the print survive handling and the fragrance itself?

A properly cured print on suitable glass is made to be handled. Because a fragrance bottle also meets alcohol, and because coated and lacquered bottles vary considerably, we test rather than promise: we print a sample on your actual bottle and check it before a run is committed.

### Can you print bottles that are already filled and capped?

We will not say yes or no from a description. Printing before filling and capping is normally cleaner, so send empty bottles when you can. If your stock is already filled and capped, tell us at the start and send a sample bottle as it is. We will check it on the press and tell you what is possible.

### Do you print the caps and boxes as well?

Ask us. Caps, collars and rigid boxes are not something we confirm from a description, because the material and its finish decide whether the ink will hold. Send the components with the bottle and we will test them and tell you which of them we can take.

### What artwork do you need for a perfume bottle?

Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) for logos, type and Arabic calligraphy with type outlined, and high resolution files for photographic artwork. Keep areas that should stay clear glass genuinely transparent, and flag which elements need white printed behind them.

### Can you match my brand colours?

We can work to brand references and get close, but colour on glass behaves differently from colour on paper: the glass, the white underneath and the bottle tint all affect it. Where a colour is critical, a printed sample is the only honest way to agree it.

### Do I need to send a bottle, or is a photo enough?

A photo and dimensions are enough for us to tell you whether it is printable and roughly what it involves. A physical bottle is what lets us print a real sample and confirm adhesion, so for anything heading to production, send one.

### Where are you based, and do you deliver across the UAE?

Our studio is in Al Quoz First, Dubai. Bottles can be dropped off or couriered to us, and we work with brands in all seven emirates and, by courier, across the wider GCC.

## Technology used
