Quotes and samples

A quote is based on what you tell us and on the item or material you send. If the object, the finish, the quantity or the artwork changes, the quote changes. Quotes are valid for thirty days unless we say otherwise.

On an unfamiliar surface we will normally want to print a sample on the actual item first. That sample is the reference for the run.

Artwork and approval

You are responsible for the artwork you supply, including that you have the right to print it. Please send vector files where they exist, or artwork at final size. We will tell you if what you have sent will not reproduce well.

Nothing goes into production until you approve the proof or the printed sample. Once approved, that is what we print.

Colour

Colour is profiled per material and we get close on most palettes. Metallics, fluorescents and some saturated spot colours sit outside what CMYK plus white can reproduce, and a colour reads differently on brushed metal than it does on white acrylic. Where an exact brand colour matters, ask for a printed sample on the real material before the run.

Items and materials you supply

Sun Studio prints; we do not manufacture the objects we print on. Bottles, cans, glassware, candles, award bodies, panels and glass normally come from you or your supplier.

Please send a few spares. Printing is a physical process on a finished object and an occasional piece is lost to setup or handling. We take care of what you send us, but we cannot accept liability for the value of client property beyond the cost of the printing on it.

Lead times

Lead times are given in working days from artwork approval, not from the first enquiry. They assume the items are with us. Site work such as wall printing depends on the surface being ready and on access being available.

Payment

Payment terms are set out on the quote or invoice for the job. Production is scheduled once the order is confirmed in line with those terms.

If something is wrong

Tell us promptly and send photographs. If the fault is ours — the wrong artwork, a print that does not match the approved sample, a defect in our workmanship — we will reprint it or credit it.

That does not extend to a change of mind after approval, to artwork supplied at the wrong size or resolution, or to the behaviour of a material you asked us to print on against our advice.

Governing law
