What is UV printing?

UV printing is digital printing in which the ink is jetted straight onto an object and cured by ultraviolet light the instant it lands. Nothing is absorbed and nothing is stuck on afterwards, so the artwork sits on the item itself rather than on a label, a wrap or a transfer film.

What materials can Sun Studio print on?

Accepted Answer

Glass, aluminium and other metals, acrylic, wood and MDF, ceramic and tile, natural stone and marble, leather, textiles, most plastics, wax and finished plaster walls. Polypropylene, polyethylene and silicone need flame, plasma or primer treatment first; PET, polycarbonate and ABS print well once properly cleaned.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. There are no screens or plates to pay for, so a single piece runs the same process as a batch of a thousand. Cost per piece still falls with quantity, because setup and jigging are shared across the run.

Can you print on items we have already bought?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and that is the normal arrangement. Sun Studio prints; it does not manufacture the objects it prints on. Bottles, cans, glassware, candles, award bodies and panels come from you or your supplier. Send one sample first so the surface can be tested.

Which emirates do you serve?

Accepted Answer

All seven emirates, and the wider GCC for custom orders. The studio has been in Al Quoz First, Dubai since 2011, and site work travels to wherever the job is.

How long does a printed finish last?

Accepted Answer

Indoors, on a properly prepared surface, a cured print lasts as long as the object stays in normal use, because the ink is a hard cross-linked film rather than a coating resting on top. What decides it is the preparation and the duty the object does, so outdoor and heavy-wear work is worth testing on a sample first.
