Wall Printing in Dubai
Sun Studio prints murals and graphics directly onto the wall itself, on site, at final size. A vertical printer runs against the wall and lays the image onto the surface — no wallpaper, no vinyl panels, no adhesive and no seams where sheets meet.
It is used where a wall has to carry a large image and look built rather than applied: offices and reception areas, retail interiors, restaurants and hotels, museums and galleries, schools, gyms and residential feature walls across the UAE.
What we can print on
The wall surface matters more than anything else here, because the ink goes onto whatever is already there:
- Painted plaster and skim — the most common case, and generally the best ground.
- Smooth concrete and render — printable, with the texture reading through the image.
- Gypsum board and partition walls — as long as the surface is sound and finished.
- Primed and sealed surfaces — a uniform, non-absorbent ground gives the most consistent colour.
- Textured walls — possible, with the understanding that texture becomes part of the image.
- Interior walls of almost any width — the machine indexes along the wall, so length is not the constraint that panel size would be.
- Ceilings and soffits — case by case, depending on access.
Printing capabilities
What is possible on site is not identical to what is possible on a flatbed, and it is worth knowing which is which:
- Direct to wall printing — the image cured onto the wall as the machine passes.
- Full colour and monochrome — photographic murals, illustration, pattern and large-scale typography.
- Printing at final size — the artwork is produced at the wall's own dimensions, so nothing is tiled or joined.
- Wall-height work — full-height graphics without a ladder line or a sheet join across the middle.
- Logo and wayfinding graphics — brand marks and directional information printed into the wall finish.
- On-site working — done in the space itself, which suits fit-outs where the wall cannot travel.
- Surface preparation — the wall is assessed and prepared before anything is printed.
Printed wall or wallpaper and vinyl
Wallpaper and applied vinyl are perfectly good products and there are jobs where they are the right answer. The differences are practical rather than a matter of one being better.
Wallpaper and vinyl panels
A printed sheet is produced off site and hung or applied. That makes it fast, easy to replace, and removable at the end of a lease.
The trade-offs show at scale: a wide mural arrives in drops that have to be matched, so there are seams to align, and adhesive can lift at edges and around corners, sockets and skirting.
Printing direct onto the wall
Nothing is applied, so there is no seam anywhere on the wall, no edge to lift and no adhesive to fail. The image sits in the wall finish, which is why a direct-printed wall reads as part of the room rather than as something stuck to it.
The trade-offs are the other way round: the work happens on site, so the wall and the space have to be available and the surface has to be sound, and changing the graphic later means redecorating rather than peeling.

Wall work is quoted from the wall itself, so photographs matter more here than on any other service:
- A photograph of the wall — straight on, and a second from an angle so we can see the surface.
- Wall dimensions — width and height of the area to be printed.
- The surface — painted plaster, bare concrete, gypsum board, textured render.
- Obstructions — sockets, switches, skirting, doors, pipework and anything projecting.
- Access — floor space in front of the wall, ceiling height and how the equipment gets into the room.
- The artwork, or a description of what is wanted.
- The location — where in Dubai or the UAE the site is.
- Timing — when the space is available, and whether other trades are still working.

Technical considerations
