Wall Printing in Dubai

Sun Studio prints murals and graphics directly onto the wall itself, on site, at final size. A vertical printer runs against the wall and lays the image onto the surface — no wallpaper, no vinyl panels, no adhesive and no seams where sheets meet.

It is used where a wall has to carry a large image and look built rather than applied: offices and reception areas, retail interiors, restaurants and hotels, museums and galleries, schools, gyms and residential feature walls across the UAE.

What we can print on

The wall surface matters more than anything else here, because the ink goes onto whatever is already there:

Printing capabilities

What is possible on site is not identical to what is possible on a flatbed, and it is worth knowing which is which:

Printed in place. The machine runs against the wall and the image is cured as it goes down.

Printed wall or wallpaper and vinyl

Wallpaper and applied vinyl are perfectly good products and there are jobs where they are the right answer. The differences are practical rather than a matter of one being better.

Wallpaper and vinyl panels

A printed sheet is produced off site and hung or applied. That makes it fast, easy to replace, and removable at the end of a lease.

The trade-offs show at scale: a wide mural arrives in drops that have to be matched, so there are seams to align, and adhesive can lift at edges and around corners, sockets and skirting.

Printing direct onto the wall

Nothing is applied, so there is no seam anywhere on the wall, no edge to lift and no adhesive to fail. The image sits in the wall finish, which is why a direct-printed wall reads as part of the room rather than as something stuck to it.

The trade-offs are the other way round: the work happens on site, so the wall and the space have to be available and the surface has to be sound, and changing the graphic later means redecorating rather than peeling.

Who this is for

Wall work usually comes from:

What to send before we can quote

Wall work is quoted from the wall itself, so photographs matter more here than on any other service:

How it works

Step 1Send

Photos of the wall, its dimensions and the artwork.

Step 2Review

We assess the surface, the access and the artwork at final size, and confirm what the wall needs first.

Step 3Prepare

The wall is prepared and the artwork is set out to the exact dimensions before anything is printed.

Step 4Print on site

The mural is printed in place and cured as it goes down.

Technical considerations

Printing on site removes the seams, but it also removes the control a flatbed gives you. The wall is the substrate, and you cannot change it after the fact.

What decides the result:

Common questions

Can you print directly onto a wall?
Yes. A vertical printer runs against the wall on site and prints the image onto the surface itself, curing as it goes. There is no wallpaper, no vinyl and no adhesive involved.
Does it work on any wall?
It works on most sound interior walls — painted plaster, skim, gypsum board and smooth concrete. What matters is that the surface is dry, clean and properly finished. Flaking paint, damp or loose skim need fixing first.
Is there a size limit?
The machine indexes along the wall, so width is rarely the constraint that it would be with panels. Height and access are the practical limits. Send the wall dimensions and photographs and we will confirm.
Are there seams or joins?
No. That is the main reason to print direct rather than hang wallpaper — the image is produced in place at final size, so there are no drops to match and no join across the wall.
How is it different from wallpaper?
Wallpaper is printed off site and applied, which makes it quick and removable but leaves seams to match and edges that can lift. Direct printing puts the image into the wall finish with nothing applied over it, at the cost of needing site access and a sound surface.
Can it be painted over later?
Yes. A printed wall is treated like any other decorated wall — it is redecorated rather than stripped. That is worth considering before using it in a short-lease space.
Do you print on site or do we send you something?
On site. The wall cannot come to us, so we come to the wall, anywhere in Dubai and across the UAE.
What do you need from us before starting?
Photographs of the wall straight on and from an angle, the width and height of the printable area, the surface type, any sockets or obstructions, and the artwork. Access details matter too — floor space in front of the wall and how the equipment gets into the room.
When in the programme should wall printing happen?
Late. Dust from other trades is the most common site problem, so the wall is best printed once the surface is finished and the heavy work around it is done.

Have a wall to print?

Send us a photograph of the wall, its width and height, and the artwork or the idea. We will come back on whether the surface is ready, what it needs first, and how the print fits your programme.
