A dome is drawn flat, printed panel by panel with the artwork split to survive the curve, and assembled overhead — the same discipline as any large-format work, pointed straight up.
What we can print
A printed ceiling is a set of flat panels that only becomes a dome at installation, so the honest question is what panel the ceiling build-up calls for:
- Backlit glass panels — printed and lit from behind, the classic route to a glowing ornamental dome.
- Stretched panel domes — a printed skin over a domed recess; the route used for the misted-forest reception dome below.
- Acrylic panels — lighter than glass where the structure above cannot carry it.
- Ornamental and stained-glass style designs — printed colour and line in place of leaded glass, at a fraction of its weight and cost.
- Sky, canopy and nature scenes — the artwork most domes ask for, printed edge to edge across the panel set.
- Coffered and flat feature ceilings — the same panel work without the curve.

Printed dome or traditional stained glass?
A leaded stained-glass dome is a craft object with a craft price and a structural weight to match. A printed dome answers the same brief differently:
Printed glass or panel dome
The ornament is printed onto the panel, so any design — traditional, geometric, photographic — costs the same to produce. Panels are lighter, replaceable individually, and the artwork can be proofed flat before anything goes overhead.
Leaded stained glass
Unmatched as craft, and the right answer where heritage authenticity is the point. It is also heavy, slow, and priced per piece of glass in the design — which is why most commercial domes today are printed or filmed rather than leaded.
