Printed Glass Interior Features for McDonald's at The Dubai Mall
McDonald's brought Sun Studio into the refit of their high-traffic flagship in The Dubai Mall, as production partner and as design consultants on how printed glass could be used in the space.
The work is architectural: large-format printed glass features rather than applied signage.

The requirement
A design that could take heavy foot traffic while carrying brand identity clearly, using glass as the printing substrate: bold, clean graphics and colour that survive repeated cleaning in a food-service environment.
What we did
The primary brand palette was reproduced onto the glass itself, so the colour is in the panel rather than in a film applied over it.
Panels were produced as large-format pieces, which is what gives the interior visual depth rather than reading as signage added to a wall.
The glass was tempered, and the ink system chosen so the surface can be cleaned repeatedly without the print being the part that wears.
Technical considerations
A food-service interior is cleaned constantly, so the cleaning regime — and the chemicals used in it — is part of the specification rather than an afterthought. What any given panel needs is settled against the site before it is printed.

The outcome
Printed glass features that carry the brand into the architecture of the outlet, on a surface built for the cleaning a busy restaurant gives it.
