The requirement

The artwork was the point of the evening, and the design had to feel physical rather than read as a picture on a bottle.

What we did

The bottles were printed direct rather than labelled, so the artwork belongs to the glass.

The design was built up in layers to give actual relief, so the raised veins can be felt as well as seen.

Technical considerations

Fifty bottles is a quantity most print houses will not quote. Screen printing glass needs a screen for every colour, and on artwork like this the setup alone costs more than the whole job at that volume — which is how a minimum order quantity gets invented.

A label was the obvious fallback and the wrong answer: it announces itself as a sticker the moment a guest picks the bottle up.
