Have an Idea but No Print-Ready File? Custom Printing and Design Help in Dubai
A sketch, a photo on your phone, a ChatGPT image or a Pinterest board is enough to start. We help turn it into artwork that prints, advise on the material and produce the piece, and standard file preparation is included in your print order.

You know what you want to make. It might be a picture on your phone, an image you generated in ChatGPT, a rough sketch or a Pinterest board you have been quietly filling for weeks. What you do not have is a finished design file, the right material, or a clear idea of how any of it actually gets printed.
That is a perfectly normal place to start. Sun Studio helps turn those starting points into custom printed pieces: we help develop the print concept, prepare suitable artwork, advise on materials and produce the print. For selected projects, we can also help source the material or the blank item.
You do not need to understand vector files, white ink or printing terminology before you speak to us. Start with what you want to make.
Can a printing shop help if I do not have a design file?
Yes. At Sun Studio, you can come to us before your artwork is ready.
Perhaps you want a patterned panel for a reception, a branded object for a launch, a personalised gift, or a display that does not look like something bought off the shelf. You may know the style you like without knowing how to explain the production. That is enough to begin a conversation.
Our design help is tied to the finished printed piece. We look at the idea, where it will be used, what it will be printed on and which details matter most. Then we work out what the artwork needs.
So if you have been looking for a design and printing studio in Dubai that will handle the practical steps between a reference image and a physical result, that is exactly the part we help with.
From a ChatGPT image or Pinterest reference to a workable design
Customers bring us AI-generated images, screenshots, sketches and visual references, and each one is a different kind of starting point.
A ChatGPT image can show the look of a product beautifully and still need corrected lettering, cleaner outlines or a layout adapted to the actual object. A Pinterest reference is usually best at explaining the colours, the mood or the finish you are after. We use both to understand your direction. Images found on Pinterest should be treated as inspiration unless you have permission to reproduce the artwork.
The first question we ask is a simple one: what do you like about this image?
It might be the pattern, a raised detail, the contrast between a clear surface and solid colour, or the way a design wraps around an object. Pinning that down is what lets us prepare artwork for your particular project.
Send the original image even if you are not sure it is usable. We will tell you what can be kept, what needs adjusting, and whether a different approach would give a better result.
Why we use VKTR in our artwork preparation
For suitable images, we use VKTR, an image-to-vector tool, to help turn pixel-based artwork into editable vector shapes. For transparency: VKTR is a PRO TECHnology project, part of the same group as Sun Studio. We use it in our own workflow, and we describe it here from that perspective.

We have tried different tools for working with customer artwork, and VKTR stood out as a practical part of the process, particularly when a logo, an illustration or a graphic needs to become easier to resize and edit.
The benefit is straightforward. Our designers spend more time preparing the piece you want to print and less time rebuilding suitable artwork from the beginning. Editable shapes let us adjust individual details, refine a layout and select areas for different print treatments, and our team then prepares the production file for the material, the size and the finish.
Vectorisation is one part of the preparation, not all of it. We still inspect the result, correct details where necessary and check the artwork against the intended print. Photographs and complex tonal images may be better kept as high-resolution images. If you want the technical explanation, see our guide to preparing artwork for UV printing.
And if you are curious, VKTR's website is worth a visit in its own right. It is a good-looking piece of design, all black, white and red, with a glitchy figure holding out the upload button, and you can try the tool there: give it a PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC image and it returns editable vector artwork as SVG, PDF, EPS or DXF. The conversion runs in your browser, so your image is not uploaded. Its About page tells the story behind the tool, and it will sound familiar: a designer at a Dubai print house who spent hours rebuilding customers' ChatGPT logos and Pinterest finds by hand, and built VKTR so that designers would not have to.

Do we charge extra to prepare your file?
Not for standard preparation. Standard file preparation for your Sun Studio print order is included. You do not need to buy a VKTR subscription, or convert the artwork yourself, before contacting us.
Our aim is to make it easier to get your project printed, and that includes helping suitable supplied artwork reach the point where we can use it in production.
If your brief needs substantial original design, extensive reconstruction or work beyond standard file preparation, we explain the scope and any additional cost before we go ahead.
So send what you have. We can tell you what is needed before you spend an evening trying to fix the file yourself.
What if you have not chosen the material?
Then involve us before you buy it.
A material that looks right in a reference photo may behave differently once it is printed, handled, cleaned or installed. Choosing it alongside the artwork helps avoid surprises.
We can talk through the appearance you want and whether a suitable glass, acrylic, wood, metal or other surface makes sense for the application.
For selected projects, we can also help source a suitable material or blank item. Availability, dimensions, quantity and any fabrication requirements decide what is possible, and we confirm the sourcing arrangements and costs for your project.
If you already have an item or a supplier, send photographs and dimensions before placing a larger order. A sample may be needed to check the print surface.
Can the design have raised details or a reverse-printed finish?
Depending on the artwork and the material, yes. Preparing the file is where we plan the finish as well as the image.
Raised or embossed-effect printing can give selected parts of a design a texture you can feel. A logo, an outline or a pattern can stand above the surrounding print. We identify those areas in the artwork and assess what can be reproduced clearly. You can explore the process in our guide to raised and embossed UV printing.
Reverse printing places the artwork behind suitable transparent material, so you see it through the clear front. It gives a different appearance from printing directly on the exposed face, and our acrylic printing guide explains the options.
White ink and selectively printed areas also decide how much of the underlying surface stays visible.
These are production decisions we make with you. VKTR helps with suitable artwork conversion; our designers and print team prepare the layers and settings the chosen effect needs.
What kinds of ideas can you bring us?
Plenty. You might be planning:
- A branded display or decorative panel for an office, shop or event.
- A personalised object that starts with a sketch or a reference image.
- A custom pattern for a product, a gift box or an interior surface.
- A printed sample to present before committing to a larger project.
- A logo or illustration with selected raised details.
- Artwork adapted to a blank item you have already bought.
You do not need a finished brief for the first enquiry. Tell us what the piece is for, and what you want someone to see or feel when they come across it.
Our portfolio of printing projects can help you explain the direction you have in mind.
What should I send to get started?
Send whatever you already have, together with:
- Your idea: a short description, a sketch or a reference image.
- The approximate size: exact measurements can follow.
- The quantity: one piece, samples or a production run.
- The intended use: where it will go and how it will be handled.
- Your material situation: already bought, still choosing, or needing sourcing help.
- Your deadline and budget range: so we can discuss a realistic approach.
If something is undecided, say so. Helping you work through those decisions is part of the conversation.
