UV Printed Aluminium VIP Badges for Ohana Development

Ohana Development launched Manchester City Yas Residences, a waterfront community on the Yas Canal at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, built under Ohana’s global partnership with Manchester City. Every guest at the launch needed a credential to get in.

Sun Studio printed the badges: 5,000 aluminium VIP passes in gold on navy, worn by every attendee on the night.

The requirement

Two brands had to share a badge the size of a playing card, and neither tolerates approximate colour. A football club crest and a developer wordmark each carry exact brand values.

What we did

The badges were printed direct onto aluminium rather than printed to paper and mounted, so the metal itself carries the artwork and the edge of the badge is the edge of the material.

Colour was held to a single standard across the full run, so the last badge off the bed matches the first.

Technical considerations

Metallic gold on deep navy is the hardest pairing to hold steady. Gold shifts depending on what sits beneath it, and on brushed aluminium the substrate itself changes how the colour reads. Across 5,000 pieces any drift becomes visible in the worst possible way: a room full of guests wearing two slightly different badges.

5,000 badges to a single colour standard, worn by every guest at the launch of a Manchester City-branded development on Yas Island.
